Floyd Mayweather’s A-List Entourage
Twitter exploded when Floyd Mayweather (43-0) approached the ring Saturday Night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In his bout against Miguel Cotto (37-3), Mayweather entered with a slew of guests in his entourage, which left the audience scratching our collective head. Sure, there was rapper 50 Cent, trying to get some of the glow from Mayweather’s enormous spotlight. When you’re the champ, your coat tails grow longer and wider, as evidence to Mayweather’s growing entourage. But curiously, there was WWE’s Hunter Hearst Hemsley AKA Triple H and even more inexplicably, pop star Justin Bieber, carrying two of Floyd’s belts to the ring.
This is a feeble attempt to win praise and favour with the younger generation by having the Prince of Pop on your side. So transparent in this move, felt like Floyd looked guilty walking to the ring, cause he knew, we knew what he was trying to do. No better than a hacky street magician (editor’s note: Aaron Rodgers (GB) discusses Floyd Mayweather. 22:30 Mark).
Lil Wayne jumped in for a photo op after Mayweather’s 43rd consecutive victory (43-0), along with Bieber and 50 Cent.
All fun and games now, until June 1st when Floyd will be sent to prison for 90 days (reduced to 87 days) on a reduced battery domestic violence charge. The case stemmed from a hair-pulling, punching and arm-twisting argument with his ex-girlfriend Josie Harris while two of their children watched in September 2010.
People don’t forget women beaters. Sorry buddy, but nice try.
